Polyethylene is characterised by very good chemical resistance, which is why black PE-HD sheets are very often used in the manufacture of containers or housings in chemical plants. Polyethylene is also very impact resistant, even at low temperatures, thanks to its insensitivity to frost. The good sliding properties, as well as the very long service life, contribute to the fact that polyethylene is used in particular in machine and plant construction, or in conveyor technology. Last but not least, polyethylene has various approvals for use in the food and drinking water sector, so that the food industry also prefers to use this plastic.
